Creating A World Without Hunger

In times of shifting winds, we naturally re-examine who we are and what is needed to create the world we know is possible. 2025 is the moment.

Today and always, we at The Hunger Project, hold a bold and unwavering vision: a world without hunger. We believe this future is not only possible—it is within our reach. Hunger is not inevitable; it is a human-made condition that can be eradicated.

Our organizational principles shape our decisions, guide our actions and define who we are. These principles are not just words on paper; they are the foundation of everything we do, the fuel behind our mission and the heartbeat of our work.

Human Dignity: We believe in the limitless potential of every person. People living with hunger are not beneficiaries, they are powerful agents of change.

Gender Equality: When women rise, communities thrive. We are committed to dismantling the systems of inequity that have denied women access to resources, decision-making power and opportunity.

Empowerment: Real, lasting change happens when people believe in their own potential. We are committed to fostering confidence and self-reliance so that communities can take charge of their own development.

Leverage: Transforming the systems of inequity that allow hunger to persist requires bold, strategic action. We cannot settle for small changes; we must launch the highest leverage actions we can to meet this challenge.

Interconnectedness: Hunger is not the problem of one nation or one community—it is a global challenge that demands global solidarity. We are not “donors and recipients” but global citizens, working as equal partners in a common front to end hunger.

Sustainability: True solutions stand the test of time. We work in ways that are environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable, ensuring that progress today does not come at the cost of tomorrow.

Social Transformation: Ending hunger means challenging the systems that have held people back for too long—corruption, conflict, racism, and the subjugation of women. We are committed to shifting not just policies, but mindsets.

Holistic Approach: Hunger does not exist in isolation. It is deeply intertwined with education, health, economic opportunity, and human rights. We are committed to continuing to work toward solutions that address hunger at its very core.

Decentralization: We are committed to championing local ownership of development, ensuring decisions are made by and for the communities facing hunger.

Transformative Leadership: Leadership is not about power over people—it is about power with people. We are committed to cultivating leaders who inspire action, foster collaboration, and ignite change from within.

A world without hunger is not a dream, it is a choice. It requires courage, commitment and collective action.

This is a mission that does not rely on one country, one foundation, or one organization. Together, as partners, as changemakers, as global citizens, we will create the world we know is possible.
