A Movement of Community Leaders, Investors and Partners Driving Sustainable Change
The Hunger Project has published our 2024 Annual Report and we demonstrates how creating a world without hunger is possible. In 2024, we reached nearly 13 million people across 13 program countries by mobilizing individuals and communities to become leaders in their own development.
Our report highlights a three-pillar approach: starting with women, mobilizing communities and engaging local governments. This strategy has led to significant progress, with 96% of community partners reporting an increased quality of life and an 80% increase in women sharing or leading household and financial decisions.
Key achievements in 2024 included:
- Africa: Over 1.3 million people are now living in self-reliant communities, with 86 epicenters declaring self-reliance after multi-year partnerships.
- South Asia: In India, The Hunger Project worked with over 5,000 elected women to become leaders in their communities. In Bangladesh, programs reached over 4.3 million people and mobilized youth and women leaders.
- Latin America: In Mexico, work with marginalized groups, including Indigenous women, reached 2.7 million people across 82 localities.
