BIO
Ruchi Yadav is the Vice President, Global Programs for The Hunger Project. In this capacity, she provides leadership for our programs worldwide to support program strategy and quality, accountability, learning and implementation. Prior to this role, Ruchi served as the Global Program Advisor for The Hunger Project-India. She will continue to provide oversight of the work in India, which includes strengthening and building the leadership of women, and empowerment of adolescent girls in constitutionally mandated rural local governance (Gram Panchayats).
Ruchi has worked on issues related to women’s rights and human rights in South Asia and Southeast Asia for over 20 years. Her practice is located in the intersections of gender with politics, democracy, caste, and class. She holds a Bachelor (Hons) from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University and a Master’s in International Development from the School of International Service, American University, Washington, DC. In 2012, she was awarded the Yale World Fellowship.
