Katja Fechteler serves as Co-Director of The Hunger Project Switzerland, bringing over 25 years of international experience in strategy, innovation, and sustainability. She combines extensive corporate and consulting expertise with a passion for empowering people and communities to achieve sustainable growth and lasting impact.
Prior to joining The Hunger Project, Katja was Chief Strategy Officer in the pharmaceutical, agribusiness, and chemical industries, and a McKinsey Junior Partner advising healthcare clients. She has led major transformation and growth programs for leading global companies, and has advised boards and executive teams on strategic leadership, corporate governance, ESG, and digital innovation. She has also built global networks of social healthcare entrepreneurs and advanced sustainable agriculture solutions for smallholder farmers in developing markets. A committed advocate for women in leadership, she mentors young female executives through programs at leading Swiss business schools.
Since joining The Hunger Project-Switzerland as Co-President of the Board in 2023, Katja has helped shape the organization’s Ambition & Strategy 2030 and strengthen its growth and impact in alignment with The Hunger Project’s global mission.
In addition to her leadership role, Katja serves as a Non-Executive Director at Tech Park Basel AG and as an Advisory Board Member at Enantios AG. She lectures on strategy and ESG/sustainability at the Center for Corporate Governance (ZfU) in Zürich and is an active member of both global and local business networks.
