Interim Country Manager, The Hunger Project-Malawi

BIO

Anthony Chilembwe is the Interim Country Manager at The Hunger Project-Malawi. He has over 24 years of experience in the private, health and NGO sectors. Before taking on this leadership role, he rejoined The Hunger Project as the Grants, Partnerships and Advocacy Coordinator in 2023. He also served in this role in 2019.  

Anthony brings extensive leadership and grants and partnerships management experience. He first served as the Grants and Fundraising Manager for the Sue Ryder Foundation in Malawi before becoming the Executive Director. He was also the Strategic Partnerships Coordinator for GOAL MALAWI. Before his career in development, he held roles with a microfinance company and a faith-based health services department. 

Anthony holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Bunda College of Agriculture at the University of Malawi. He is based in Blantyre, Malawi.
