We at The Hunger Project are thrilled to announce four new senior leaders on our global team: Dianna Elisa, Country Manager, The Hunger Project-Mozambique; Elodie Iko, Country Manager, The Hunger Project-Benin; Rebecca Burgess, Country Director, The Hunger Project-UK; and Phillipe Magid, Country Director, The Hunger Project-Australia.
Dianna Elisa, Country Manager, Mozambique
Dianna Elisa joins The Hunger Project with over 11 years of experience working in both the public and private sectors. Dianna is passionate about improving the livelihoods of people in Mozambique and is dedicated to driving change in difficult and different environments. She worked at VillageReach as a System Design Officer, improving provinces’ supply chains using various demonstration models and advocating for the innovations of these systems at a national level. With International Relief and Development, she contributed to coordinating administrative, financial, human resources, logistic and programmatic activities for different projects.
Elodie Iko, Country Manager, Benin
Elodie Iko has over 15 years of experience in the field of international development, with a specific focus on gender and women’s empowerment. Elodie re-joins the THP team after a brief time away with Plan International as their Senior Gender and Inclusion Expert. Prior to that, Elodie worked for The Hunger Project-Benin from 2013 to 2021, first as a gender expert, then adding inclusive finance and the coordination of the Her Choice program against child marriage to her responsibilities. Her creativity and collaboration on projects such as Her Choice have worked to strengthen gender inclusion and equality across Benin.
Rebecca Burgess, Country Director, UK
Rebecca Burgess joins The Hunger Project-UK after holding several leadership roles with organizations championing women’s empowerment, carbon accounting and the circular economy. As Chief Executive of City to Sea, her expertise helped grow the team and expand their fundraising strategies. In 2020, Rebecca was featured in Management Today’s 35 Women Under 35.
Philippe Magid, Country Director, Australia
Philippe Magid has been working across the Australian not-for-profit and commercial sectors for over 20 years. As the former CEO of The Reach Foundation, Phillippe was responsible for driving organization strategy, team leadership, program development, and revenue diversification. Additionally, his passion for building meaningful relationships with both investors and local community leaders is exhibited in his work establishing connections between the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and leaders in Australia and investors.
