Annual Report 2025
The Hunger Project’s 2025 Annual Report highlights the impact of our work in partnership with 12.7 million people across more than 7,500 communities.
Our mission is to facilitate individual and collective action to transform the systems of inequity that create hunger and cause it to persist. Our approach is grounded in the belief that those closest to the challenges are also closest to the solutions. Adapted to meet local challenges and opportunities, all our programs are built on three essential pillars:
Start with Women
Mobilize Communities
Engage Local Government
This year’s Annual Report highlights key programmatic achievements across these three pillars, as examples of what is made possible through community leadership.
In 2025, we reached a major milestone in Africa, where the 90th epicenter declared self-reliance. This means that nearly 1.4 million people are living in communities with lasting local leadership and systems. Across these self-reliant communities, moderate or severe hunger dropped by 28%, child marriage fell by 23% and belief in shared household decision-making between men and women rose by 29%.
Make change happen. Invest in people.
