He explains why The Hunger Project’s women-led strategy to reducing hunger and poverty is crucial to reaching the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) and points to Malawi President Joyce Banda as a clear example of how women can leverage their empowerment. He also touches on the multitude causes of hunger and malnutrition which are often overlooked and how, when given the tools, local people can solve thier own problems.
