BIO
Evelijne became Country Director for THP-Netherlands in November 2009. She holds two Masters degrees, in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology, from the University of Leiden. Prior to joining THP, she worked in Vietnam, India and in The Netherlands in the non-profit development sector. Prior to joining THP, Evelijne was editor‐in-chief of Vice Versa, the Dutch journal for development professionals, and facilitator of debates and learning sessions for a great number of development organizations, and an advisor to UNDP. Evelijne still regularly writes in Dutch media, currently as a columnist on the Dikke Blauwe, an online platform for philantropy. Evelijne is also a board member at Partos (branch organization for the development sector), at environmental activist NGO Both Ends, at Agriprofocus (a platform for NGOs, scientists and entrepreneurs working with or for agricultural entrepreneurs), and an advisory board member to a post-doctorate learning program for young development professionals. Evelijne lives with her husband Bart and two daughters in Leiden. In her time off, Evelijne likes scuba-diving, and takes part in medicine wheel and sweat lodge rituals.
