On March 8, 2014, The Hunger Project joined billions of people in celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) to honor women around the world and to rise up to advocate, as a global community, for equality, prosperity and the empowerment of all women. THP-Ethiopia Inaugurates Savings and Credit Cooperative

The Hunger Project-Ethiopia focused 2014’s International Women’s Day on gender equality in savings and credit as part of the UN’s theme of “equality for women is progress for all.” The day was celebrated with an inauguration of Fetan Lewet, the Machakel Epicenter Savings and Credit Cooperative (SACCO).
