Major accomplishments this period:

·           Remobilization of populations through VCA workshops. 8 workshops held with 192 participants

·           Renewal of Epicenter Committee members and bank groups .

·           SPIA funds worth ~$1,630 for a gardening project.

·           Implementation of a Loan Recovery Committee.

·           Training for two animators/researchers.

·           Training in women’s rights.

·           Five meetings with the Loan Recovery Committees.

·           Provision of seeds and fertilizer for increased food production for the epicenter food bank.

Sagatta Ngueth Epicenter

Major accomplishments this period:

·           Animation and sensitization of 29 partners in the role of microcredit in epicenters and credit repayment.

·           Training of two animators/people’s researchers.

·           Implementation of a Loan Recovery Committee.

·           Training in women’s rights.

·           Two meetings with the Loan Recovery Committees and sensitization for loan repayment.

Rosso Sénégal Epicenter

Start year: 2001

Major accomplishments this period:

·           Remobilization of populations through 12 VCA workshops with 69 participants.

·           Training in women’s rights.

·           Funding of a marketing project for targeting the limitation of wood consumption at the household level. 60 women partners benefited.

·           Training of two animators/researchers.

·           Contract negotiation for improvement of households.

·           Analysis of unpaid loans and implementation of Loan Recovery Committee.

·           Three monitoring meetings of the Loan Recovery Committee.

Koul Epicenter

Start year: 1999

Major accomplishments this period:

·           Remobilization of population through nine VCA workshops, with the participation of 280 partners.

·           Support to a farming program.

·           Re-election of the epicenter committee who have met four times.

·           Training in poultry farming for 45 women.

·           Training in women’s rights.

·           Technical support to the rural bank and implementation of AWFFI Credit.

·           Training of two animators/researchers.

·           Provision of seeds and fertilizer for increased food production for the epicenter food bank.

Mpal Epicenter

Start year: 1991

Major accomplishments this period:

·           Support to the epicenter committee for the development of a capacity building project for the European Union.

·           Development of a Women’s Rights project to be submitted to the African Women’s Development Fund.

·           Two-day meeting of 10 bank managers to share the experience of Mpal bank.

·           Women’s rights training.

·           Training of two animators/researchers

Ross Béthio Epicenter

·           Remobilization of populations through 12 VCA workshops with 239 participants.

·           Re-election of epicenter committee members.

·           Training in women’s rights and farming techniques.

·           Training and assistance to staff and elected bank members in bookkeeping and bank management.

·           Purchase and use of new management tools at the rural bank (bank slips, worksheets, bank books, etc.).

·           Signing the convention specifying the management of loan funds disbursed to the rural bank and the opening of an epicenter account with the transfer of funds of ~$6,510.

·           Preparation of annual financials of the bank and support for the revisions and adoption of a credit policy.

Richard Toll/Dagana Epicenter

·           Animation sensitization of partners in epicenter self-reliance, the role of microcredit in epicenters, and loan repayment.

·           Creation of a Loan Recovery Committee.

·           Training in women’s rights.

Dinguiraye Epicenter

·           14 VCAs with 510 participants.

·           Implementation of epicenter committee with four meetings conducted in 2007.

·           Training of two animators/researchers.

·           Training in women’s rights.

·           Training for the epicenter committee.

·           Creation of an AWFFI Loan Fund of ~$8,680 for the rural bank.

·           Provision of seeds and fertilizer for food production for the food bank.

·           The epicenter committee obtained the administrative deed necessary to construct an L-shaped epicenter.

·           Purchase and use of new management tools at the rural bank (bank slips, worksheets, bank books, etc.).

·           Training and assistance for rural bank staff in bookkeeping.

·           Signing the convention specifying the management of loan funds disbursed to the rural bank and the opening of an epicenter account with the transfer of funds.

·         Technical and financial support for income-generating activities in fattening, poultry farming and dyeing.

·         Literacy for 614 members.

·         Opening of a second teller window for the Coki bank at Pété Ouarack.

·         Coki bank has 16 groups, 431 members at a sum of $122,498.

·         Workshop on cattle fattening.

·         Completion of construction at Coki and official handing over of keys to the epicenter committee.

·         Development and adoption of a bi-annual action plan for the epicenter committee.

·         Implementation of a fund of ~$21,698 by a partner to support the bank.
