Action Alert: Joan Holmes to Brief Congressional Women’s Caucus
Following her testimony to the Congressional Human Rights Caucus in May, Joan Holmes was invited to brief the Congressional Women’s Caucus on Tuesday, September 16 from 3-4pm in Room 1116, Longworth House Office Building in Washington, DC.
Members are most likely to attend if they are powerfully encouraged to do so by their constituents.
We request that you carry out a campaign to have letters go to all the women representatives and senators in your area encouraging them to attend this briefing.
The steps of this campaign will be:
1) Enroll as many letter writers as possible for each Congressional District and states represented by a woman in the US Senate. Send the name and email for each letter writer to Sarah Munro - sm@thp.org - and she will put them on an email alert list.
2) The timing of these letters is very important. Once the official invitations have been sent by Representatives Kaptur and Velazquez, we will send an email to the team of people sending letters alerting them that it is time to fax their letters.
