The Hunger Project-Sweden has offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo. Its objectives are: (1) raising funds for the global programs of The Hunger Project and (2) raising awareness of The Hunger Project’s global aim to end hunger and poverty. In addition to the Country Director, Sara Wettergren, there are five additional staff members: Magdalena Jennstål, Ylva Munkhammar, Ellen Hoas Ströman, Lina Areblad and Niklas Hallhagen.
Sara Wettergren was appointed as the Country Director for The Hunger Project-Sweden in May 2012. Sara has extensive experience in both public and private sectors at both local and international levels. She has conducted assignments in Laos, Zimbabwe and Egypt. In recent years Sara has been working as a PR and Communications consultant. She has broad experience in strategic consulting, communicative processes and forming public opinion. Sara has a Masters Degree in International Relations and Political Science.
Ylva Munkhammar is a project manager and fundraiser at The Hunger Project-Sweden based in Gothenburg. Ylva holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from Stockholm School of Economics. During her studies she did an internship at THP-Sweden. After finishing her Bachelor’s Degree, she joined THP as a staff member in February 2010 at the Stockholm office. In August 2011, she moved to Gothenburg to open THP-Sweden’s third office to increase THP’s presence in the second largest city in Sweden.
Magdalena Bergqvist is a project manager and fundraiser at The Hunger Project-Sweden based in Stockholm. Magdalena holds a Master’s degree in Peace, Conflict and International Relations and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. After her studies she did an internship at THP and continued later as a volunteer parallel to her work at The Swedish Migration Board and the Swedish Institute. Now she has been on staff since August 2011.
Lina Areblad is Communicator/webdeveloper at The Hunger Project-Sweden. Lina is based at the office in Gotenburg. She has studied marketing at Berghs School of Communication. She works for THP-Sweden part time and runs her own social media agency part time. She has been on staff since november 2011.
Ellen Hoas Ströman is a project manager and fundraiser at the Malmö office. Ellen holds a BA in Political Science and a BA in International Migration and Ethnic Relations. She has previously worked for the Education Department in the City of Malmö, the Swedish Public Employment Service, and the Swedish Institute. Ellen joined the team in May 2012.
