"Generations of Women" - a special Women & Philanthropy event in California

On July 17, a group of 35 women and girls gathered in Corona Del Mar, CA, for a Women & Philanthropy event at the home of investor Dawn Van Ness.  The theme of the event was "Generations of Women."  Guests ranged in age from 2 1/2 years to 83 years old and every decade in between was represented!  Investors brought their daughers, sisters, grandmother's, nieces, aunts and girlfriends.  The event included an overview of the Millennium Development Goals, highlighting the gender aspects of each and how The Hunger Project's work to empower women is impacting each goal.  The conversation for women as leading financial players in the end of hunger was very rich.  Staff members Laura Burt and Joanna Ryder led the event, which raised almost $56,000 for The Hunger Project!
